MINISTRIES WITH INTERNATIONAL REACH SUPPORT LOCAL CHARITIES
Sheila R. Vitale, founder and pastor of Living Epistles Ministries in Port Jefferson Station, New York, and its community outreach organization, Christ-Centered Kabbalah, provides guidance to spiritual seekers worldwide through her LEM and CCK websites. Sheila R. Vitale also works to support her local community by contributing LEM and CCK monies to a Port Jefferson charity, Hope House Ministries.
LEM and CCK separately contribute nearly 20 percent of their income to local, national, and international charities. Hope House Ministries is among three local charities, including the Lighthouse Mission Port Jefferson Station Food Outreach and the Terryville Fire Department of Port Jefferson, to which LEM and CCK contribute.
The mission of Hope House Ministries is to provide compassionate, comprehensive, and competent care to the poor and disadvantaged, its website says. This mission aligns with LEM’s commitment to supporting charities that provide food, clothing, and medical treatment to people in need, and to dispensing Christian literature free of charge through the LEM and CCK websites.
Hope House provides a range of on-site services at its community house and other facilities for temporary and long-term shelter, long-term and outpatient treatment for addiction, professional counseling, and alternative education for students in junior and senior high school.
Hope House recently held its 14th Annual Endowment Fund Event to raise funds in an effort to establish long-term financial stability. Hope House has other fundraising events slated for 2016, including a fundraising dinner and auction, a golf classic, and a bike tour. Last year’s endowment fund event raised more than $265,000.
