THE MISSION OF DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS
Sheila R. Vitale is the founder and pastor of Living Epistles Ministries and Christ-Centered Kabbalah. Both professionally and privately, Sheila R. Vitale supports a number of charities, including Disabled American Veterans.
The mission of Disabled American Veterans is to ensure that all veterans live quality lives with dignity and respect. With close to 1,300 chapters in the United States, Disabled American Veterans helps over 1 million veterans in life-changing ways every year.
1. The organization helps veterans obtain the benefits and services they earned through their service. It annually provides over 700,000 rides to medical appointments and helps fill out more than 300,000 benefits claims. In 2015 alone, the organization helped veterans get over $4 billion in benefits.
2. The group organizes job fairs and provides resources to connect veterans with employment opportunities.
3. Disabled American Veterans champions the rights of disabled servicemen and -women, widowed spouses, orphans, and their families before Congress as well as state and local governments.
