PRESS RELEASE #91

World Vision Partners with Corporations to Improve Lives

A pastor at Living Epistles Ministries (LEM), Sheila Vitale heads a teaching ministry focused on Christ-Centered Kabbalah, a Judeo-Christian system of beliefs. In conjunction with her work at LEM, Sheila Vitale supports the charitable organization World Vision, a Christian humanitarian group dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults from disadvantaged backgrounds worldwide.

In order to expand the reach of aid provided to those in need, World Vision has partnered with the following three major corporations to undertake an array of special international projects.

  1. World Bank Group. Employees of the banking firm annually fundraise for a month at the end of each year in order to raise donations for more than 300 nonprofits, one of which is World Vision. Altogether, World Bank Group donated $15,000 from its 2016 fundraiser to the charitable organization, in addition to an earlier donation of $12,000 to its disaster relief fund for survivors of Hurricane Matthew.

  1. Procter & Gamble. Consumer goods producer Procter & Gamble has a longstanding partnership with World Vision to provide children with clean drinking water in African countries where access is limited. To date, the partnership has increased access to clean water in 34 countries through the distribution of purification packets.

  1. Walmart. Walmart has worked with World Vision for 13 years, beginning with a $500,000 contribution to its relief efforts in the aftermath of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. Today, Walmart works with World Vision to facilitate the Women in Factories program. The initiative is designed to help men and women from Central American countries to develop professional skills, personal finance knowledge, and better nutritional habits, while also empowering women to gain greater confidence in the workplace and at home.
